Method

Step 1. Pour the chickpeas and their liquid in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil over medium high heat.

Step 2. Drain the chickpeas and transfer into a medium-sized serving bowl.

Step 3. Add the garlic, salt, lemon, and cumin. Mix thoroughly until chickpeas are partially smashed.

Step 4. Garnish with parsley, chili powder, and roasted pine nuts.

Step 5. Drizzle some olive oil on top and serve with pita bread on the side.
