Method

  • Step 1. Pour the chickpeas and their liquid in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil over medium high heat.

  • Step 2. Drain the chickpeas and transfer into a medium-sized serving bowl.

  • Step 3. Add the garlic, salt, lemon, and cumin. Mix thoroughly until chickpeas are partially smashed.

  • Step 4. Garnish with parsley, chili powder, and roasted pine nuts.

  • Step 5. Drizzle some olive oil on top and serve with pita bread on the side.
