You Need To Stay At This 5-Star Sydney Hotel
With its city location and luxurious 1920s-inspired decor, the Primus Hotel Sydney ticks all the boxes for a romantic weekend getaway...
It's coming to the pointy end of the year, where you desperately want a holiday, but no time to take one! But sometimes all it takes to recharge the batteries is a change of scenery. A couples-only weekend away in the city where all you have to worry about is finding the perfect spot for cocktails, dinner and breakfast!
This is how my husband and I found ourselves on a little staycation at the incredible Primus Hotel Sydney. A luxe 5-star hotel, with all the art deco glamour you would expect of the original 1930s building the hotel is housed, seamlessly melded with mod cons us urban travellers expect, including large format TVs, complimentary internet and iPod docks.
Walking into the lobby it's evident that attention to detail is key here; from the soft jazz playing in the background and impeccable interiors including plush velvet lounges, gilded fixtures and the most breathtaking chandelier to the impeccable manners of all the staff on hand to help .
And the wow-factor doesn't stop there. The rooms are just as plush - think king bed, separate sitting area and sofa, double vanity and large soaking bath along with complimentary Appelles amenities, fluffy robes (pre-resiquite of any hotel stay!), slippers, tea and Nespresso machine. Indeed, so much thought has gone into maintaining the historic beauty of the hotel, it's almost easy to forget that you are actually in the middle of the city.
Now back to the important things; cocktails, dinner and breakfast. The good news is you're literally spoiled for choice! If you don't want to venture out of this bubble of grandeur, the hotel itself has a lobby bar, an adjoining all-day dining restaurant - The Wilmot, rooftop pool and bar. You are also just walking distance from Sydney Harbour Bridge, Opera house and Rocks district.
Rooms start from $310 per night - a small investment for a 5-star experience that's sure restore your state of mind. There's no doubt you'll leave singing the famous words of crooner Michael Bublé, 'It's a beautiful day and I can't stop myself from smiling.'
