This Easter Take A Break With A Harbour View
Say no to "busy" and instead book a stay at Pier One for a relaxing long weekend with sensational harbour views and long hot baths...
Christmas is long behind us and we're hurtling at lightening speed towards Easter! I hear you, how the hell is it already April?!
If you're already feeling the effects of burnout from a busy work and social schedule, it's definitely time to put yourself first and perhaps say no to jam-packed days over the Easter long weekend and instead take the opportunity to getaway for a long weekend of R&R instead.
Sydney-based or thinking of holidaying in Sydney, then you can't go past Pier One Sydney Harbour, a luxurious hotel which perfectly blends contemporary chic with boutique style accomodation. Situated in Walsh Bay, right by the Harbour Bridge, the hotel is built on, and over the water, meaning each room offers one-of-a-kind-views.
I recently enjoyed a stay in the hotel's Admiral Suite - and if there were three words to describe the experience it would be "epitome of luxury". Spacious and boasting ceiling-to-floor windows as well as a private deck jutting out over the pier, there is no better room to take in the spectacular views of Sydney Harbour, including three of Australia's most famous landmarks Luna Park, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.
The room decor is plush but not pretentious. No detail has been spared with ornamental art and historical furnishings carefully chosen from the finest design houses in Australia and regional France.
As a mother of one with another on the way, the open plan bathroom complete with a gorgeous big bath offering panoramic views, and the king-sized bed with a flat screen TV that smoothly rises out of the end of the bed with the push of a button so you can catch up on your favourite movies (with panoramic views of course!), were two of my favourite creature comforts. As I snuggled into my plush robe, Nespresso in hand, I couldn't help but think I could get used to this life!
However, if you can find the will to disrobe, dress up and head out you're certainly spoiled for choice when it comes to dining and entertainment. There are plenty of options right in the Rocks or the CBD is super close too.
I devoured a delicious meal at Fratelli Fresh which offers a great casual dining option for delicious Italian fare and is just a short 5-minute walk down Hickson Road.
Celebrating something special or just want to go all out and enjoy a a spot of fine dining, then make a booking at The Gantry, the hotel's one hat restaurant, which offers a menu of wholesome, seasonal dishes as well as a 5-course degustation menu.
Yep, I know what you're thinking, time to clear you Easter schedule and head to Pier One Sydney Harbour to book your stay ASAP.
