Something Up Your Sleeve
Tops with a flared sleeve or an exaggerated frill at the sleeve end, give us a little throwback to movements and moments of the 70’s such as ABBA. Be the new dancing queen and rock these tops whether they’re cropped, off the shoulder or have a high neck. Pair them with a mini skirt, culottes or even "mum" jeans for a more casual take on the trend. These sleeves may only be a small change in your wardrobe, but are a big trend in fashion right now.
Off-the-shoulder tops are the perfect transition piece to take you through the seasons. Alternate between a long sleeve off-the-shoulder for breezy nights or a short sleeve off-the-shoulder top paired with culottes or a mini skirt just like fashion blogger Chiara Ferrangi for sunny summer days .
Feeling a little nostalgic, then why not try some overalls. Go casual and pair denim overalls with a white t-shirt or even an old band tee hidden at the back of your closet. For something dressier, team with heels, statement earrings and a blouse - Bob’s your uncle, flashing back to the 90's with modern flair.
Bored of a the same work outfits?… Revamp your corporate closet by adding some lace. Fashion Blogger and mum Chriselle Lim, adds a polished twist to typically corporate pieces with a lace camisole over a white button down shirt paired with culottes. Adding something as simple as a lace camisole to a 9-5 look, will take your outfit from smart to stylish!
While we’re on the throwback bandwagon, why not track back to the 70s, the era of the flared jeans. Dare to flare just like Dani Song, fashionista and front rower at NYFW, who rocked an all black ensemble, denim flared jeans and a leather shear lined moto jacket. Flares also look amazing with an off-the-shoulder top and mules.
